Disneyland 2012 - Day 2

Bear with me people, I know that I'm just now writing about a trip that happened 2 months ago. My memory got worse with age so I might not remember all the details by now! Day 2 at Disneyland was on her actual birthday. I got reservation at the Plaza Inn inside Disneyland to do the Breakfast with Minnie. Obviously, value wise, you will never eat enough to get anywhere closed to what you paid for each person. BUT, it is worth it to meet and get pictures taken with characters and skipped the lines later on in the park later on. I also found out that they tries to get two seatings in for breakfast, so once you get close to an hour in there, the wait staff will very politely hint that it's time to go. =)

Captain Hook

Minnie, of course!

Eeyore stopped by while she's having her birthday cake. I added that on as a surprise for her. It's a chocolate cake in a princess treasure chest. I think the cake cost me $15. =P

Danced with a penguin

That was about all the pictures I got that day, indoor and early in the day. The sky opened up midmorning and just started dumping water the rest of the day. Since it was a weekday, the park closes at 8. I think we waited until after 7 before heading back to the hotel. I paid the $8 pancho so I wouldn't get soaked. T was fine in her stroller and the rain cover. Chris just braved the weather and got soak during the 2-3 blocks back. I'm glad she was able to spend her birthday inside Disneyland, since once she starts kindergarden next year, we won't be able to just take her out of school for trips.

Lion King performance @ OLM

performance @ OLM

Last night was her first Lion King performance in her costume. She's a cheetah. The musical theater group was invited to participate at the international dinner show at a nearby private school. It was the first time we got to see more of a preview of the final show in June.

She was hanging out with the other cheetahs, waiting to get their face painted.

Face being painted.

Here's the preview of the Circle of Life performance.

She even looked like she knows the routine some of the time!

Here's a not so great video. Maybe I should bring my real video camera next time instead of using my DSLR for the job (which is definitely not very good).

Bed Hog

She's a bed hog. Not quite in the normal sense, since it's my bed that she decided to take over. I just seems to find her on MY bed often. Here she is hanging out on my bed after I removed the sheets to be wash. (She thought it was the perfect place to watch Clone Wars on the iPad.)

Then it was movie night (Puss in Boots), I found her yet again in my bed with her dad AND popcorns.

Easter Egg Hunt @ Preschool

egg hunt @ preschool

This was her 4th and last Easter Egg Hunt at her preschool/day care. I still can't believe she'll be going to kindergarden in August at a new school. Just look at how much she has grown from the past two years!

Daycare Egg Hunt

The Egg Hunt was scheduled on Good Friday as usual. I had to leave early from work in order to get there by the start time of 3pm. By the time I got there, bunny ears are on everyone's head and getting ready to go outside for the hunt.

Everyone walked in line to go to the field outside.

Waiting is hard for them.

I told her to run further away on the field, most kids just go for the closest ones. It worked! Look, nobody was around her for a good 15 sec.

In addition to all the goodies in the eggs, she got to eat a cupcake with a peep bunny on top.

I don't think elementary school usually have egg hunts, so this could very well be the last one she'll be participating in. I'm glad she had a good time.

Disneyland - Day 1

I mentioned last month that I managed to convinced T that a trip to Disneyland is way better than having a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese again. (Please, NEVER have a birthday party there. It was madness!!) Now that it's been almost 2 months since her birthday/trip, maybe I'll finally share some pictures and notes. =)

We drove down on Saturday afternoon right after her musical theater class. We managed to only miss her ballet/tap class on Monday. (Incidentally, we always seemed to miss the class on Monday way more often than the one on Saturday for some reason.) Along Hwy 5, the orchards were in full bloom. I wish I could've taken a better picture. I only managed this one in the car and couldn't show the pretty pink and white flowers very well.

It was night by the time we arrived at the hotel. She got to do her favorite thing while in a hotel before bedtime...
... coloring! She needs to make time for coloring in every hotel we stayed in.

Next morning, the first stop in Disneyland is City Hall to get her birthday button. She enjoyed everyone wishing her a happy birthday for the first two days. By the third day, she decided that she has had enough and didn't want to wear it anymore.

Everyone needs a picture in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

First ride of the trip. (Hey I'm actually in the picture!)

She only rode the teacups three times on this trip.

Met with some newer royalties.

Who's Duffy??? If you don't know who this is, here's the info.

A giant mouse that only has 4 fingers on each hand. (I never knew that before.)

One of her new favorite ride, Jumping Jellyfishes. It was the first time she was able to ride it (not tall enough before this trip.)

She asked for one of these ever since we decided to go to Disneyland.
She looked like she enjoyed it.

The first day at Disneyland/California Adventures was great. We were able to try out new rides. The lines were no more than a 10 minutes. The weather was slightly chilly for SoCa, but sunny and pleasant. (Can't say that about the weather on the next day.)
